Vision

The mission of The Himalayan Research Center is to conduct research based on Himalayan region, and to provide research opportunities to scientists and researchersfrom all over the world. Ourfocus is to study the geological, ecological and socio-anthropological aspects in the Himalayan region and their changes, especially due to impact of climate change and changing human behavior.

Objectives:

1. To study the impact of climate change in the Himalayan glaciers and its importance as a watershed.
2. To observe and record the interaction between the changing environment and mountain communities.
3. To help mountain communities adapt with new challenges faced due to climate change.
4. To study about change in biodiversity of the Himalayan region.
5. To create awareness about conservation and sustainable development among the communities of Himalayan region.
6. To promote international level mountain research as well as help develop local researchers in Himalayan region.
